چکیده

Context: Radio-loud AGNs are thought to possess various sites of particle acceleration, which gives rise the observed non-thermal spectra. Stochastic turbulent acceleration (STA) and diffusive shock (DSA) commonly cited as potential sources high-energy particles in weakly magnetized environments. Together, these processes radiative losses determine emission characteristics extra-galactic radio sources. Aims: The purpose this research is investigate dynamical interplay between STA DSA lobes FR-II galaxies, well manner mechanisms, along with a variety losses, collectively shape features seen Methods: A phenomenologically motivated model considered subsequently employed on magneto-hydrodynamically simulated lobe through novel hybrid Eulerian-Lagrangian framework. Results: curved spectrum that morphologically different from usual shock-accelerated spectrum. As consequence structural difference underlying energy spectrum, multi-wavelength arise spectral distribution lobe. Additionally, we observe enhanced diffuse X-ray for cases where taken into account addition DSA.

Stochastic particle acceleration in the lobes of giant radio galaxies

We investigate the acceleration of particles via the second-order Fermi process in the lobes of giant radio galaxies. Such sites are candidates for the accelerators of ultra-high energy cosmic rays. We focus on the nearby FR I radio galaxy Centaurus A. This is motivated by the coincidence of its position with the arrival direction of several of the highest energy Auger events. The conditions ne...

Spectral ageing in the lobes of cluster-centre FR-II radio galaxies

Recent investigations have shown that many parameters and assumptions made in the application of spectral ageing models to FR-II radio galaxies (e.g. injection index, uniform magnetic field, non-negligible cross-lobe age variations) may not be as reliable as previously thought. In this paper we use new VLA observations, which allow spectral curvature at GHz frequencies to be determined in much ...

The dividing line between FR I and FR II radio–galaxies

In the radio – host galaxy optical luminosity plane FR I and FR II radio–galaxies are clearly divided. Since the optical luminosity of an elliptical galaxy is an indication of the mass of its central black hole, we propose that the FR I–FR II dividing luminosity is a function of the mass of the black hole powering the active nucleus. Furthermore, as the radio power gives an estimate of the tota...

The nuclear radio – optical properties of intermediate redshift FR II radio galaxies and quasars ⋆

We extend the study of the nuclei of 3CR objects as seen with the HST to higher redshift FR II radio sources (0.4 < z < 0.6). Our results reflect what has been found for FR II of lower redshift. The position of the nuclei on the plane formed by optical and radio luminosities is related to their optical spectral classification: the nuclei of both high and low excitation galaxies lie on the corre...
